Chimney Fire with Extension on West Drive (01-07-07) 88-17

Engine 88 AOS of a two story dwelling reporting a smoke condition in the dwelling with fire running the walls on Side C of the dwelling.  Battalion 44 assumed Newport Command and placed Engine 88 and Ladder 65 in-service.  Engine 88 went in-service with a 1 ¾” waterline and Ladder 65 opened up the walls and ceiling around an adjacent exterior fire place and checked for extension.  The fire was quickly placed under control and the assignment was held to Engine 88 / Engine 44 and Ladder 65.  FM 222 is handling the investigation. 

 

 

1st Due Extrication for the NFD Street Rd and Kingston Way (1-18-07)

 

Engine 65 arrived on location of a 2 vehicle traffic accident with one person entrapped.  Engine 65 went in-service with hand tools and assisted the Medic units with patient care.  The Engine Co. was able to gain entry to the patient prior to the arrival of the Rescue Co.

 

 

Rescue Box 65-2 Street Rd and Richlieu Rd (1-23-07)

Deputy 65 AOS of a 3 vehicle traffic accident and report 1 vehicle on its side with an elderly subject entrapped. Engine 65 stabilized the vehicle and was able to remove the elderly patient with the assistance of the Bensalem EMS and Fire Inspectors from the Bensalem FMO prior to the arrival of the rescue company. 

 

 

 

 

Kitchen Fire at Carrabbas Restaurant (1-24-07) Box 65-24

Ladder 65 was on radio responding to a cover assignment at station 16 , when Bucks County radio advised the box assignment was being transmitted at Carrabbas. Upon arrival Ladder 65 encountered fire in the kitchen wall behind the cooker. Crews from Truck 8 and Engine companies 1, 4 & 84 were put into service assisting 65's Engine & Ladder crews. FM222's office is handling the investigation.

 

 

 

Overturned SUV with Ejection on the PA Turnpike (01/27/07) 65-77

Engine 65 AOS at mile post 347.6 of the PA Turnpike and reported an overturned SUV with 1 subject partially ejected and trapped beneath the vehicle.  The Engine Company stabilized the vehicle and assisted Medic 186 with patient care while Rescue 2 went in-service with air bags.

 

 

NFD Goes to Work on a Dwelling Fire 3069 Century Lane (01-27-07) 65-04

Engine and Chief 65 AOS of a 2-story dwelling with heavy fire showing from second floor.  Engine 65 went in-service with an 1 3/4" waterline , Chief 65 established Nottingham Command and placed all hands in-service.  Ladder 65 opened up the dwelling and performed searches.  Engine 65's crew encountered heavy fire conditions on the second floor but was aggressively able to knock the fire down with-in 4 minutes of arriving. All searches were negative, however Bensalem EMS transported two people to local hospitals. FM 222 is investigating the cause of the fire. Units on location Engine 65, Ladder 65, Rescue 8, Quint 28, Phila. County Engine 22, Medic 186.   

 

 

 

Truck 65 Goes to Work on an Apartment Fire (02/5/07) 6-23

Deputy 6 AOS at Bridgetown Commons Apartments reporting heavy fire showing from a second floor unit. All hands were placed in service. 65's split the truck crew , going in service roof operations and interior crews performed a primary search and vented the fire apartment. The fire was contained to one apartment with some extension into the roof area. FM243 is handling the investigation.

 

 

 

Duty Crew Catches a First Due Apartment Fire (02/15/07) 65-31

A box alarm was dispatched shortly after 2200 hours. on Thursday night for a report of an apartment fire at Country Commons Apartments unit M-171.  Chief 65 AOS of a 2 story apartment building and reported smoke showing from the first floor apartment.  Engine 65 dropped into Side A and went in-service with a 1 ¾” waterline.  Engine 65’s crew encountered heavy fire in the living room of the first floor apartment and was aggressively able to knock the fire down prior to the arrival of the second due Engine Company. Truck 65 vented the building and performed a primary and secondary search of apartments.  FM222 is investigating the cause of the fire.  Bensalem EMS transported the occupant of the fire apartment to FTH.

Basement Job for Truck Company (02/24/07) 1-37

Chief 1 arrived on location of a one story dwelling and reported light smoke showing , Truck 65 and Engine 1 were placed in-service and Feasterville Command was established.    Interior crews from the Truck Company encountered a moderate smoke condition on the 1st floor and a heavy smoke condition in the basement of the dwelling , and advised Engine 1 to pull an 1 ¾ waterline.  The fire was contained to the basement of the dwelling with no extension to the 1st floor.   Engine 84, Engine 4 and Truck 1 were also placed in-service by command. 

 

 

 

Fatal Dwelling Fire in Bensalem (03-10-07) 16-06

Police were originally dispatched to 1153 Sunset Lane for an abandoned 911 call, when they arrived on location they requested the fire department be dispatched for a dwelling fire with entrapment. Assistant 16 AOS and reported heavy smoke and fire showing from Side C.  Command upgraded the assignment to a box alarm and all hands were placed in-service.  Engine 16's crew along Truck 65's crew entered the 1st floor of the dwelling with an 1 3/4" hand-line and to conduct a search.  Engine 65 dropped an additional supply line to Side A of the dwelling and went in-service opening up the roof and Side C of the dwelling.  Numerous hand lines were placed in-service off of Engine 16, Engine 65 and Engine 37. FM Scanlon located the victim in the basement of the dwelling. Bensalem EMS transported another resident to a local hospital. Crews remained on location throughout the night because of flare ups and the concern of a collapse. Township Officials decided early Sunday morning (03-11-07) to tear down the structure because the rear section had collapsed and the remaining portion was very unstable. Fire Investigators from Bensalem FMO, Bensalem PD Crime Scene Unit, Newtown FM and the State FM were on location to investigate the cause of the fatal blaze.

 

Crews Quickly Extinguishing a Mattress Fire (3-13-07) 88-31

Deputy 44 AOS of a 3 story twin dwelling and reported light smoke showing and placed Engine 88, Engine 8 and Ladder 65 in-service.  Interior crews reported a mattress on fire in the basement of the dwelling with a moderate smoke condition on all three floors.  Engine 88's crew extinguished the fire with an 1 3/4" waterline while Ladder 65 and Engine 8 checked for extension and placed positive pressure fans in-service.  Bensalem FMO on location for the investigation.  No injuries were reported. 

 

 

 

MVA with Entrapment on the PA Turnpike (03-15-07) 65-76

Deputy 65 AOS of a 2-vehicle traffic accident mile post 347.4 westbound on the  PA Turnpike and reported 1-vehicle on its roof with all its occupants out it and 1-vehicle on the median with the driver entrapped.  Engine 65 and Rescue 4 were placed in-service with removing the entrapped driver and securing all hazards.  Medic 186 (Bensalem) and Medic 384 (Montgomery Co.) transported 2 patients to local hospitals. 

 

 

Roofers Torch Ignites Dwelling Fire (4-21-07) 65-1

Engine 65 on location with a single story rancher , heavy smoke showing, Engine 65 had its own hydrant and went in-serve with a 1”¾ waterline. Deputy 65 established Nottingham Command and reported fire on Side C of dwelling and in the attic.  Ladder 65 opened up the roof and Engine 84 stretched a backup line to Side C of the dwelling.   Bensalem FMO was on location to investigate the cause of the fire and no injuries were reported.

 

Ladder 65 Added on Parkland Dwelling Fire (5-4-07) 9-61

 

Chief 9 arrived on location of a 3 story single family dwelling, heavy fire showing side "C".  Engine 9 went in-service with an 1 3/4" waterline and primary search.  Ladder 8 arrived and went in-service with ventilation as Engine 21 was assigned to assist Engine 9's crew and pull a back-up line.  Command reported slow progress and heavy fire conditions throughout sides C&D and added Ladder 65 to the assignment.  Ladder 65 arrived and opened up the roof and assisted interior crews with fire suppression on  the 2nd and 3rd floors.  Engine 7, Engine 77-1 and Engine 8 were also on scene.

Ladder 65 First in on Working Dwelling Fire (28-10) 05/08/07 

Crews were dispatched to a report of a dwelling fire at 4457 Francesca Lane at 14:20 hours. Deputy 65 arrived on location with medium smoke showing from a two story single family dwelling and established Eddington Command.  Ladder 65's interior crew reported heavy fire on side "C", first floor with extension to the 2nd floor.  Engine 88 dropped in and went in-service with an 1 3/4" waterline.  Ladder 65's exterior crew opened side 'C" and the roof of the dwelling.  Quint 28, Engine 16 and Engine 44 assisted interior crews with overhaul.  The fire was placed under control at 14:30 hrs. Bensalem FMO on location with the investigation. 

 

Nasty Wreck on Route 1 at Old Lincoln Hwy. (5/10/07) 65-28

 

A Bensalem Police Officer on patrol came upon a two-vehicle traffic accident with injuries at the intersection of Route 1 and Old Lincoln Hwy. early Thursday morning.  Deputy 65 arrived on location and confirmed entrapment, Engine Co. 65 arrived and stabilized the vehicles and assisted Medic 186 with removing the patient.  Rescue 4 and an additional medic unit (Medic 185) arrived and assisted the initial crews with patient care and securing the hazards.  Three subjects were transported to local hospitals with injuries sustained from the accident. 

 

First of Two Morning Jobs for Engine 65 (5/18/07) 88-1

Engine 65, Engine 9 and Truck 14 were added to a working dwelling fire at 1874 Sheri Rd , Friday morning.  Car 185 (Bensalem EMS) arrived on location with 22PD and reported heavy smoke showing from a two story single family dwelling.  Engine Co's. 7 & 88 went in-service with an 1 3/4" waterline and reported heavy fire on the 1st floor.  Engine 65 crew assisted Truck 8 with opening up the dwelling  and performing searches of the 2nd floor. The fire was contained to the 1st floor of the dwelling, with smoke and heat damage throughout.  FM 222 is handling the investigation.  While in the process of taking up from this fire Engine 65 was being dispatched to a report of a working apartment fire at the Franklin Commons Apartments off of Park Ave.  The Engine Co. was the first in piece of apparatus and rescued a male from the 2nd floor fire apartment.  (see the complete story: The NFD Makes Another Rescue (28-19) 5/18/07)

 

 

NFD Runs Back to Back Jobs & Make Another Rescue (5/18/07) 28-19

Companies were dispatched for a report of an apartment fire at Franklin Commons Apartments at approximately 09:40 hrs. Friday morning.  Chief 65 arrived on location established command and reported heavy fire showing from a two story courtyard apartment with a male subject jumping from the balcony. Engine 65's crew arrived and went in-service with an 1 3/4" courtyard bag and reported heavy fire and smoke on the 2nd floor with extension into the roof. Command assigned the truck co's on the initial box assignment to trench the roof and added two additional truck co's. to assist with roof operations. While performing a primary search of the fire apartment, Engine 65's crew located an unconscious male victim in a bedroom and removed him from the apartment to an awaiting medic unit (Medic 185).  Squirt 44, Quint 28, Engine 84, Truck 16, Truck 14, Truck 11, Truck 8 and Truck 37 were all placed in-service.  The cause of the fire is still under investigation by FM 222-1 of the Bensalem FMO and the Bensalem Police.

Turnpike Extrication (5/21/07) 65-77

L65 AOS with one entrapped in an overturned dump truck which was hauling sand. L65 & R4 went in service extricating the driver of the dump truck. The other truck involved was an F550 stakebody truck , that driver was ejected. Medic 186 called for an air unit to transport the ejected driver. Jeffstat1 was called to the scene and landed in the westbound lanes of the turnpike just west of the accident scene. The turnpike was closed westbound for an extended period due to the large amount of sand in the roadway.

3 Vehicle Wreck with Entrapment on Route 1 (65-28) 5/26/07

Deputy 65 AOS of a 3 vehicle MVA NB Route 1 IFO of the Comfort Inn Hotel , reporting one person entrapped in an SUV.  Engine 65 arrived ,  stabilized the SUV and  secured  hazards in the other vehicles involved in the accident.  Engine/Rescue 84 arrived and went in-service removing the driver side door of the SUV.  Crews assisted Medic 186, Medic 114 and Medic 168 with patient care. 

 

 

Ladder 65 Goes to Work on Cornwells Dwelling Fire (5/26/07) 16-6

Ladder 65 was added to a working dwelling fire at 1270 Cornwells Ave. Saturday afternoon.  Assistant 16 AOS of a 2 story single family dwelling and reported smoke showing from the second floor. Engine 16 went in-service with an 1" 3/4 and Quint 28 laddered the dwelling and went to the roof. Ladder 65 arrived and opened up the dwelling checking for extension on the second floor.  No injuries were reported and the fire was placed under control at approx. 13:14 hours.  FM 222-1 is handling the investigation.   

 

 

 Pin Job In Front of the Casino (5-30-07) 65-122

Engine 65 AOS of a multi vehicle crash with one subject trapped , on the property of the Philadelphia Park Casino (just off of Street Road) Wednesday night shortly after 22:00 hours.  Engine 65 stabilized the vehicle and secured the hazards and Rescue 16 displaced the dash and removed the entrapped subject from the vehicle.  Medic 186 transported one patient to a local hospital.  Engine 65 remained on location to assist 22PD with lighting.

 

 

Small Fire at the Holiday Inn Forces Evacuation (6-20-07) 4-17

Companies were dispatched to the Holiday Inn Select for a hotel fire early Wednesday morning. Upon arrival , the 6-story hotel was partially evacuated and staff was reporting a smoke condition on the 3rd and 5th floor.  Engine 65 supported the FDC on Side C of the hotel and Ladder 65 assisted Engine 4 with evacuating the remainder of the hotel guests.  The fire was contained to an HVAC unit on the roof of the 3rd floor.  No injuries were reported. 

 

 

Sprinkler Contains Fire at Smarty Jones Barn (6/20/07) 65-22

Crews were dispatched to Philadelphia Park Casino/Racetrack for a barn fire June 20, 2007.  Deputy 65 arrived on location and reported a fire in a stall of Barn 11 with an active sprinkler activation.  Security Guards and other staff of Philadelphia Park quickly evacuated numerous racehorses from Barn 11, which is operated by John Servis, who won the Kentucky Derby and Preakness Stakes in 2004 with the popular horse Smarty Jones.  The fire was contained to the front portion of the barn and injured one horse.  The Bensalem Fire Marshal’s Office is investing the cause of the fire.   

 

 

Engine 65 First In On 3 Story Dwelling Fire (7-12-07) 04-02

Chief 4 arrived on location of a 3-story twin and reported heavy fire showing from the second floor.  Engine 65, first on scene went in-service with a blitz attack (deck gun) and then a 1 3/4" waterline to the fire dwelling. Engine 65's crew reported heavy fire conditions on the 2nd floor and aggressively knocked the fire down and proceeded to the 3rd floor, where again they encountered heavy fire and heat conditions. DC65 (OIC of E-65) asked command to have the next in Engine Co. advance a back-up line to floor two of the fire dwelling and have a Truck Co. vent and ladder the dwelling.  With conditions quickly deteriorating and no sign of a back-up line or ventilation on floor 3 , Engine 65's crew had to back out of the 3rd floor and re-attack the fire from floor two.  After laddering the dwelling, Rescue 9's crew eventually made it to the interior with a back-up line and assisted Engine 65's crew.  The two interior 1 3/4" waterlines were making good progress on the 2nd floor when Command decided to evacuate the building due to heavy fire conditions on side A (3rd floor and attic).  Engine 65's deck gun was placed back in-service for a short period of time , crews were then allowed to re-enter the dwelling to continue interior operations on floors two and three.  Engine 84, 6 and 4 proceeded into the exposure dwelling and reported extension into the attic.  Ladder 65 arrived on location and assisted Engine 65, Rescue 9, and Ladder 1's crew in the interior of the main fire dwelling and Ladder 8 arrived and went to work on the roof.  A firefighter from Station 65 suffered a sprained wrist and forearm and was transported by Bensalem EMS to FTH, no other injuries were reported. Bensalem Twp. Fire Marshal Jay Scanlon is investigating the cause of the blaze.  Other companies on the fire ground were Engine Co. 88, Ladder Co. 21, 16, Rescue Co. 2 and Medic Units 185, 186. 

 

Ladder Co. Goes to Work on a Dwelling Fire (07-16-07) 44-14

Crews were originally dispatched for a report of a dwelling fire in the area of Portside Drive and Mallard Drive, Bucks Co. Communication Center advised BC 44 they were receiving numerous calls for the rear of a dwelling on Mallard Drive to be on fire.  Deputy 65 AOS of a 2-story single family dwelling and reported smoke showing from Side C and established Newport Command. Engine 44 first in picked up a hydrant and went in-service a 1 ¾” waterline . Ladder 65 arrived on Side A and went in-service venting and laddering the dwelling.  Engine Co. 7 & 12 assisted 44’s crew and Ladder Co. 8 assisted 65’s crew.  No injuries were reported and the Bensalem Twp. Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating the cause of the fire. 

 

Ladder 65's Crew Finds an Unconscious Victim (7/16/07) 28-17

Chief 65 AOS at Hillbrook Apartments and reported nothing showing from Side A of a 3-story apartment building.  Ladder 65 was first in and advised the chief of a light smoke condition on floor 2 and that they needed to force the door to apartment 204.  Upon forcing the door the crew found a heavy smoke condition, in addition they came upon an unconscious male on the living room floor.  Ladder 65's crew advised command they located a victim and removed him to Side A to an arriving Bensalem Medic Unit.  The fire was contained to the kitchen in apartment 204, however smoke spread to floors 2 and 3.  Command placed the fire under control and crews remained on location with positive pressure ventilation.  Bensalem EMS transported the victim to an area hospital. 

 

 

Fatal Motorcycle Accident of PA Turnpike (7/28/07) 65-76

Engine 65 assisted the PA State Police and the Bucks Co. Corner's Office on a fatal motorcycle accident near the Philadelphia Interchange of the PA Turnpike.  A motorcycle traveling westbound near the Philadelphia Interchange crashed throwing the driver of the motorcycle into the eastbound lanes.  The motorcycle driver was then struck by several vehicles in the eastbound lanes.  Engine 65 and Utility 65 remained on location for several hours to assist the accident investigators and the coroner with lights and washing down highway.

 

 

Ladder 65 Added on a Working House Fire in Penndel (8-03) 08/08/07

Deputy 8 AOS of a 2-story single family dwelling and reported heavy smoke showing from the 2nd floor.  Chief 8 established Penndel Command and requested the assignment to be upgraded to a Box Alarm (which added Ladder 65 and Engine 9).  Ladder 8 placed its main to the roof and went in-service with a 2” waterline to the second floor.  Command assigned Engine 77 to establish a water supply and Rescue 8 to assist the interior crews with an additional 2” waterline.  Ladder 65 arrived on location and went to work assisting Engine 8’s crew on the roof and then were re-assigned to assist interior crews with extensive overhaul operations (because of numerous void spaces created by additions).  No injuries were reported and Middletown Twp. FMO is investigating the cause of the fire.  Additional apparatus on location , Engine Co’s 44, 12, 21 and Ladder Co. 14. 

 

Engine 65 Runs Dwelling Fire in Feasterville (08-29-07) Box 1-30

Asst. 4 AOS with smoke showing from a 1 story SFD , E6 arrived first and put an 1 3/4" water line in service. Interior crews reported heavy fire in the living room area with extension into the attic. Crews from E1 & E4-1 assisted E6's crew interior , while E65's crew pulled a back up line and L2 was in service on the roof. FM243's office is handling the investigation.

 

 

Small Fire in a Strip Mall (08-29-07) Box 28-7

Stations 28 & 16 were dispatched to the Bensalem Center for an alarm activation. Upon arrival Q28's crew encountered a medium smoke condition in an unoccupied strip store and the assignment was upgraded. After investigating a small fire was found in the office area. Q28 pulled an 1 3/4" line to the interior and E65's crew secured the utilities and assisted with smoke removal.

 

 

Another Barn Fire at Philadelphia Park (9-1-07) 65-22

Crews were dispatched to the Philadelphia Park Casino/Racetrack for a barn fire early Saturday morning.  Deputy 65 AOS shortly after 05:30 hrs and reported nothing showing but he did have an active water-flow from Barn 19. Tower 44's crew advised command of an activated sprinkler system with an extinguished fire a stall of Barn 19.  Engine 65's crew assisted Tower 44's crew with checking for extension and Ladder 65's crew shut down the sprinkler system and overhauled the scene.  Crews remained on location for 30 minutes assisting the on-duty fire investigator from the Bensalem FMO.  No injuries were reported.   

 

 

Overturned Tractor Trailer on the PA Turnpike (9/4/07) 65-77

Deputy 65 AOS and reported an overturned tractor trailer blocking all westbound lanes at the acceleration ramp from Philadelphia Interchange to the westbound turnpike.  Deputy 65 confirmed one entrapped and placed Engine 65, Engine 88 and Rescue 4 in-service.  Engine 65 arrived and went in-service with a combination tool and cribbed the tractor, Engine 88 assisted with cribbing and stretched a dry line while Rescue 4 went in-service assisting Engine 65's crew removing the roof of the tractor.  Rescue 8 was advised by command to enter the turnpike and assist with removing the roof and displacing the dash of trailer.  Crews were in-service for an extended period of time and the westbound turnpike was closed for hours causing major traffic delays.

MVA with Entrapment on the Turnpike (10/2/07)65-76  

Deputy 65 AOS of a 1 vehicle traffic accident westbound PA Turnpike milepost 344.7 and reported a mini-van on its side with one subject entrapped.  Engine 65 went in-service with stabilization and began to remove the roof with a combination tool.  Rescue 4 arrived and assisted Engine 65's crew remove the roof.  Medic 186 transported one patient to a local hospital. 

 

 

 

Ladder 65 Added to Working Dwelling Fire (10-10-07) 6-19

Deputy 6 AOS of a one story dwelling and reported fire showing from the rear of the dwelling and added Ladder 65 and Engine 9 to the scene.  Engine 84 and Engine 6 arrived and with the assistance of FM 222-2 went in-service with an 1 3/4" waterline.  Engine 4 pulled a second 1 3/4" waterline.  Ladder 65 and Ladder 1 vented the dwelling and assisted interior crews with checking for extension.  Bensalem FMO is investigating the cause of the fire. 

 

Hazardous Material Incident at Eddington Thread (10-12-07) 65-20

While performing a fire prevention detail, Engine and Ladder 65 were dispatched to a report of a Hazardous Materials incident at Bensalem Family Health Medical Center.  Medic 186 was on location and reported a subject was experiencing respiratory distress after inhaling an unknown acid at local manufacturing company.  The NFD redirected to Eddington Thread on Knights Road and discovered the chemical in question was still reacting in a 30 gallon drum in the rear of the warehouse.  Crews evacuated the building and performed air monitoring while they awaited the arrival of a representative from the Bucks Co. Hazardous Materials Team.  The chemical was neutralized by a private chemical company and the building was allowed to return to normal operations.  Two workers from the plant were transported by Bensalem EMS to local a hospital for evaluation. 

 

 

Ladder Company Catches a Friday Afternoon Job (10/19/07) 44-16

Deputy 65 arrived on location and reported smoke showing from a 2-story middle of the row townhouse.  Engine 44 and Ladder 65 were placed in-service with an interior attack and ventilation.  Deputy 44 assumed Newport command.  Interior crews reported fire on the 1st floor with heavy smoke throughout.  Engine 88 was placed in-service by command and pulled a back-up line.  All other arriving units staged.  Bensalem Twp. FMO is investigating the cause of the fire, no injuries were reported.

 

First In Apartment Fire for New Engine (11/26/07) Box 65-31

Dispatched for an apartment fire at Country Commons Apartments building E. Chief 65 AOS reported heavy smoke showing from a 2 story apartment building. Engine 65 went in service with an 1 3/4 line and conducted a primary search. L8 was second arriving unit , vented and laddered the building while crews from E44 & E4 checked adjacent apartments for extension. The fire was contained to one apartment. Bensalem EMS treated one resident for smoke inhalation. FM252 is handling the investigation covering for FM222.

 

 

Accident Closes PA Turnpike for 6 Hours (11/26/07) Box 2-76

Companies were dispatched for an automobile fire just before 06:30 hours at milemarker 346 eastbound on the turnpike. While responding the Turnpike Commision was reporting a multiple vehicle accident which involved both eastbound and westbound lanes. Upon arrival it was determined that there were three seperate accidents ( one westbound and two eastbound ) and one vehicle fully involved. E2 & R2 were in service with one entrapped in the eastbound lanes, while Engine 65 assisted medic 114 , removing the driver of the jacknifed tractor trailer in the westbound lanes. In all 9 vehicles were involved. 4 patients were transported to local hospitals. The Pennsylvania Turnpike would remain closed for 6 hours following the accident.

Ruptured Sprinkler Main Keeps Casino Closed (11/29/07) 65-122

Crews from the NFD responded to the Philadelphia Park Casino for a waterflow alarm.  Upon arrival the buildings 10” underground fire main ruptured causing a major water leak.  Officials from the Bensalem Township and the State Gamming Commission ordered nearly 2,000 customers and over 100 employees out of the Casino until contractors were able to repair the sprinkler system.

Smokey Fire Force Evacuation of Sears (12/06/07) Box 84-8

Crews were dispatched to the Sears at the Neshaminy Mall for a report of smoke in the building.  Engine 65 arrived on location and advised Command (Chief 4) of a heavy smoke condition in the shipping and receiving department.  Engine 65's crew pulled an 1 3/4" waterline and extinguished the fire in a shipping office.  Ladder 65, Ladder 1 and Engine 4 were placed in-service with positive  pressure ventilation.  FM 222-1 responded and is conducting the investigation.  No injuries were reported.
